Hang Ten! Letarte Celebrates 10 Years With 12 Swimsuits in Sports Illustrated
Maui, HI, February 11, 2010- Maui-based Letarte has spread Aloha around the world for a full decade and most recently among the pages of the coveted 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
With over 72 swimsuit designers competing to appear in S.I., Letarte is thrilled and honored to have 12 bikinis - a record number of styles for the brand - featured in the highly-anticipated and much sought-after publication.
"We're 10 for 10!" exclaims CEO Michele Letarte Ross. "I can't think of a better way to celebrate 10 years of Letarte than by being included in the prestigious Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for the 10th year in a row."
The dozen Letarte designs featured in S.I. were exclusively created for the magazine. The styles range from embellished jewel tones and tribal prints to Slim Aaron inspired polka dots and gingham. They adorn S.I.'s elite models such as Bar Refaeli, Hilary Rhoda, Esti Ginzburg and cover girl Brooklyn Decker. Additionally, there are 30 Letarte swimsuits featured on SI.com's Swimsuit pages.
"The design process is intense," explains designer Lisa Letarte Cabrinha. "I am constantly looking for new sources of inspiration, especially for the one-of-a-kind creations I put together for S.I. To see them acknowledged year after year in the Swimsuit issue is a tremendous honor.
